An expert in power pricing, staging & strategic marketing, Scott has experience across a wide range of property types. He’s sold homes in Chicago’s most popular neighborhoods, from the Gold Coast, Lincoln Park & Lakeview, to the West Loop, Edgewater & Lincoln Square. He’s also the #1 Agent in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood, having sold more homes since 2007 than any other broker. Annually, 40-50% of his homes sell with multiple offers and more than 60% sell in under 3 weeks.
Scott started his real estate business as a secondary career as he pursued his successful marketing career, making the jump to full-time work as a broker later, when his business was more established. Scott’s keys to success as an agent are simple: “integrity, attention to detail, thick skin, and tenacity.” Scott prizes honesty above all else, advising new agents that they should always be up front with clients, who won’t always love hearing bad news, but will appreciate an agent who they can trust and who never hides the ball. He elaborates, “if I ask myself, should I tell the client this, the answer is pick up the phone right away.” Scott advises newer brokers to work smarter, not harder. “I see a lot of newer brokers that waste a lot of time not having the right conversations up front with their clients to assess what their needs are and are they someone I can help and serve.”
When he is not hard at work, Scott is an avid traveler, whose goal is to see 50% of the world by the time he reaches age 50. Scott also enjoys checking out new restaurants a little closer to home. His neighborhood faves include Mas Alla Del Sol and Blowfish Sushi. A former rower, Scott was a board member and founder of Chicago Rowing Union (a non-profit rowing organization) and has participated in fundraising endurance events for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation and the American Liver Foundation. On his off time, he can be found spending time with his husband, at Hollywood Beach in the summer, taking a trip to southwest Michigan or Venice,CA, or simply checking out new neighborhood restaurant fare.
